Arrhythmia
Detection Algorithm Performance Analysis
World Class Performance
It is
important for medical instrumentation
manufacturers to have an unbiased measure
by which the performance of our products
can be gauged.
Leading
cardiologists have come together to
examine and manually classify a fixed set
of ECG data, which will allow leaders in
the electrocardiography profession to
strive for excellence in arrhythmia
algorithm detection performance. Two such
databases are provided
by the American Heart Association and The Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
The
following document will detail the
performance of the Mortara Instrument
real time arrhythmia detection algorithm
within the context of each set of data.
The AHA
database includes data from 80 patients,
of which two have pacemakers.
The MIT
database contains 48 sets of patient
data, including four, which are paced.
Each
database was developed specifically for
measuring algorithm accuracy with regard
to ventricular ectopy, and contain two
simultaneous channels of ECG.
The
following analysis demonstrates why
Mortara Instrument is the World Leader in
ECG Technology.
