Revolutionary
Vision:
The
Mortara Instrument team was assembled in 1982 by
David W. Mortara, Ph.D.. Under his leadership,
Mortara Instrument developed several ECG
components and algorithms which are widely
recognized today for their superior performance
and accuracy. This ECG technology, utilized in
Mortara's own products and licensed to numerous
medical device manufacturers, established
Mortara's technology leadership in the field of
electrocardiography.
In
1986, Mortara Instrument introduced the ELI 100
STM, the first 12-lead continuous ST segment
monitor. With the introduction of the
revolutionary 12-lead ST segment monitor, an
important precedent was set not only for the
field of cardiology, but for Mortara Instrument
as an organization. Working in close
collaboration with thought-leading research and
clinical cardiologists, the importance of true
12-lead ST segment monitoring for early detection
of cardiac ischemia was brought to light. From
that point forward, the idea that 12-lead
acquisition should be available for all ECG
monitoring became the driving vision behind
Mortara Instrument's research and development
efforts.
Today,
Mortara Instrument's products are marketed
throughout the world under the Mortara name.
Mortara technology is marketed to other companies
under the Heart of Mortara insignia and is found
throughout the continuum of care.
