Today Mortara Instrument commenced shipments of its newest electrocardiograph, the ELI 350. Featuring a large, 17" color display, the ELI 350 enables complete preview of ECG waveform prior to acquisition as well as review post-acquisition. The large screen also enables visualization of up to 30 minutes of accumulated ECG recording, enabling post-acquisition selection and our VERITAS interpretation of specific ECG time segments. "We are very pleased to have arrived at this point with the ELI 350," Justin Mortara, Ph.D., Vice President, Mortara Instrument, commented. "Worldwide demand for this product is very high. We anticipate broad adoption in the hospital market as well as cardiology practices. In conjunction with the ELI 150 and ELI 250, we now enjoy a complete line of resting ECG devices designed to meet a full spectrum of needs from the primary care physician office to acute care hospital." The ELI 350 also features advanced connectivity capabilities including support for bi-directional, secure wireless communication and DICOM compatibility. Secure wireless transmission via standard 802.11 technologies enables wireless workflow with order management and results reporting directly from the electrocardiograph without hardwire connection. With DICOM modality support the ELI 350 electrocardiograph can be interfaced into any DICOM compliant PACS system or EMR with full support for DICOM modality work list and DICOM ECG objects. Mortara noted, "In today's world it is not enough to design and build the best in class device. The ELI 350 electrocardiograph clearly stands above its competitive peers as a resting ECG device for acquisition and analysis of the ECG, but it cannot be evaluated solely on this basis. As an ever increasing amount of clinical data is managed electronically, it is critical that the best in class device be easily integrated into the electronic healthcare enterprise in a non-proprietary, standards based manner. This enables continuity of electronic patient records and delivery of integrated diagnostic information for clinical decision support. Our choice of DICOM reflects Mortara's commitment to non-proprietary solutions that preserve choice for our customers and enable integration of diagnostic ECGs in a wide variety of platforms."
