In adoption of the DICOM standard, Mortara also announced its E-Scribe DICOM Workstation. The E-Scribe DICOM Workstation enables annotation and review of DICOM waveform objects and is designed to be embedded within third party DICOM workstations and integrated with existing PACS and DICOM archives. |

Mortara’s support of DICOM also extends to the DICOM modality worklist which enables automatic population of demographic information with corresponding order information arriving from hospital information systems. Implementation of the DICOM modality worklist, coupled with the ability for clinicians to review both images and full fidelity waveforms on a single workstation, will markedly improve cardiology workflow throughout the continuum of cardiovascular care. Justin L. Mortara, Ph.D., Vice President for Mortara Instrument commented, “Mortara has played a leadership role in bringing important ECG standards forward. From our pioneering role in collaborating with the FDA to develop the HL7 annotated ECG standard and ECG Warehouse repository to our adoption of DICOM for diagnostic ECG, Mortara continues to invest in open standards and their continued development. We look forward to introducing the DICOM standard with our devices and moving forward to make an important difference in how diagnostic ECG devices are interfaced in hospitals around the world.” |
