Mortara Instrument Receives FDA Clearance on the ELI 10 Mobile Electrocardiograph

MILWAUKEE, WI—March 21, 2011—Mortara Instrument announces FDA clearance and release of its newest electrocardiograph, the ELI™ 10 Mobile. Designed specifically for mobile environments such as Emergency Medical Services, the ELI 10 Mobile’s cellular-enabled technology permits rapid deployment, analysis, and transmission of ECG data to a receiving station where the interpretation can be confirmed. The ELI 10 Mobile and its new molded case combine to create a rugged product able to withstand the rigors of this emergent mobile environment.

The American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association recommend that patients identified as having ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) receive reperfusion therapy within 90 minutes of first medical contact*.  The benefit of this therapy rises exponentially as the time-to-therapy window is reduced.  The goal of the ELI 10 Mobile is to assist in earlier identification of STEMI patients.  With more timely identification of this life-threatening cardiac condition, STEMI patients can be routed to the most appropriate care center for expedited therapy.
