| Mortara Instrument was honored during the Manufacturer of the Year awards banquet with double honors, winning both the grand award for high-technology and a special award recognizing innovation in health care innovation. The annual Manufacturer of the Year competition is sponsored by Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, the state's largest business trade group, and the law firm Michael Best & Friedrich and accounting firm Virchow, Krause & Co. A total of 16 Wisconsin manufacturers were recognized at the event. Mortara received the grand award for its new product platform development including the X12+ telemetry transmitter and the ELI 250 electrocardiograph. The special award for health care innovation was given for Mortara's development of an ECG warehouse to be used by the FDA Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. On receiving the award, Dr. Justin Mortara, Vice president noted, "It is a great honor to be recognized for the accomplishments of both our engineering and operations groups. Mortara Instrument is growing globally, while developing and manufacturing locally. We look forward introducing more new products and to begin production use of the ECG Warehouse later this year."
