Inovise Medical, Inc and Mortara Instrument to Showcase Next-Generation Cardiograph with Audicor Analysis at the ACC 52nd Annual Scientific Session

MILWAUKEE, WI, USA

28 March 2003

Newberg, Oregon, March 28, 2003 - Inovise Medical, Inc and Mortara Instrument today announced their collaboration to incorporate the Inovise Audicor Analysis in Mortara's next generation electrocardiograph platform. The product will complement the current Mortara ECG solutions by providing physicians with more diagnostically useful data than ever before for the assessment of cardiac disease, especially within the acute care setting. The new electrocardiograph platform and a prototype electrocardiograph with Audicor can be seen in the Mortara Instrument exhibit booth at the upcoming 52nd Annual ACC Scientific Session in Chicago, IL, March 30-April 2, 2003.

"Inovise Medical is committed to providing physicians with the best possible data to make difficult cardiac diagnostic decisions on the most challenging patients. By providing heart sound detection along with ECG analysis, Audicor allows physicians to quickly and confidently diagnose a greater number of patients than is possible in acute settings today " commented Patti White, CEO of Inovise Medical, Inc. "Mortara's strong reputation as an innovative, forward-looking organization with experience bringing diagnostic advances to medical markets and a shared vision of the continuing need for breakthrough cardiac modalities makes this an exciting partnering opportunity."

The Audicor System, with correlated audioelectric cardiography (COR), analyzes electrical signals and sound data from the heart and presents them in a correlated, single page report for physician use. The Audicor System brings superior algorithm performance for the detection of acute MI, the detection, size and locating of prior MI and the detection of LVH along with the identification of a 3rd or 4th heart sound, when present, to physicians early in the diagnostic process. Fully integrated into the Mortara electrocardiograph platform, the COR test will use standard ECG workflow, replacing one electrode with a proprietary, single use sensor.

"Mortara Instrument is pleased to announce this collaboration with Inovise Medical. Both Inovise and Mortara are committed to advancing the state of the art in electrocardiography and the incorporation of Audicor into the Mortara platform will contribute to the realization of this goal," commented Justin Mortara, Ph.D., VP of Sales and Marketing of Mortara Instrument, Inc.
