Quinton Instrument Company and Mortara Instrument, Inc. today announced an agreement whereby Quinton will begin distribution of Mortara's Holter monitoring systems. This agreement is targeted at select markets outside the U.S. where Quinton enjoys significant distribution strength that is complementary to Mortara's existing international distribution network. Under this agreement, Quinton will distribute Mortara's H-Scribe Holter system and H-12 Holter recorder labeled with the Quinton name and carrying the "Heart of Mortara" insignia.

David S. Buckles, PhD, FACC, Chief Technology Officer of Quinton stated, "Collaborating with Mortara for Holter technology is a natural extension of joint efforts we have already taken with telemetry. Just as Mortara's telemetry technology gives Quinton access to a unique 12-lead capability, so too does the Mortara Holter system. The ability to acquire and analyze 12-lead ECG data is an important evolution of Holter technology which will define a new standard in Holter monitoring."

Quinton Instrument is the U.S. market leader in Holter, as measured by the market consulting firm of Frost and Sullivan. Mortara Instrument and Quinton will collaborate to define and develop future enhancements to the Holter system to best meet different market requirements.
