Mortara Instrument Announces
VERITAS Advanced ECG Algorithms

Today Mortara Instrument
announced a new branding initiative for its advanced ECG algorithms,
VERITAS. The
VERITAS advanced ECG algorithms include Mortara’s world class 12-lead
resting interpretation algorithm, its high performance arrhythmia and ST
segment monitoring algorithms as well as other special purpose
algorithms for various ECG applications. VERITAS algorithms are
currently licensed to medical device companies worldwide for
incorporation into products throughout the continuum of care from
physician offices to intensive care units.
“Through 20 years of continuous investment in ECG technology, Mortara
Instrument has created a wide array of leading ECG technology
components, both hardware and software, that are provided on an OEM
basis to numerous companies,” noted Justin L. Mortara, Ph.D. Vice
President of Sales and Marketing for Mortara Instrument. “Our decision
to brand our ECG algorithms reflects the strong growth of this business
within our OEM business segment and our desire to create a marketing
identity to both support current partners and further expand our ECG
algorithm customer base.”
Mortara Instrument is considered a leader in the field of ECG algorithms
and provides this technology for use in numerous devices including
defibrillators, electrocardiographs, bedside monitors and telemetry
systems. The VERITAS ECG algorithms have been implemented for numerous
target processors and device types with various degrees of CPU power and
power consumption profiles. Justin Mortara further commented, “The
widespread use of Mortara ECG algorithms has accelerated with recent
agreements so that by 2003 we will see delivery of VERITAS ECG
algorithms in over 40,000 devices annually. By focusing our R&D
