Mortara
Instrument to Showcase State of the art Digital ECG
Solutions at 38th Annual DIA Meeting
MILWAUKEE, WI, USA
31 May 2002
Mortara Instrument will showcase multiple solutions for
digital ECG acquisition and management in clinical trials
at the upcoming annual meeting of the Drug Information
Association (DIA) in Chicago. Mortara offers a complete
end to end solution for digital ECG acquisition, data
management, measurement and annotation, as well as export
in the XML format proposed by the FDA for digital ECG
submission.
Mark Mentzer, Director of Marketing commented,
Mortara Instrument has been providing ECG
technology solutions for nearly 20 years. Our leadership
in the field of ECG technology is based on a fruitful
combination of innovation and customization driven by
customer requirements. Todays clinical trials
environment requires digital ECG technology that is
advanced but flexible. Equally important, any digital ECG
solution for clinical trials must conform to the evolving
FDA format requirements for ECG data collection and
export. Mortara Instruments solutions meet these
requirements and also offer essential improvements that
support the unique workflow associated with clinical
trials.
Mortaras solution for digital ECG management, the
E-Scribe, will be highlighted at the meeting. Among the
latest E-Scribe developments to be unveiled at the
upcoming DIA meeting are the DMA and 12XML modules.
Configured with these research modules, the E-Scribe
system provides the clinical research community with the
most advanced 21 CFR Part 11 compliant solution for
digital ECG management. Mortaras DMA module offers
a precision electronic caliper solution for digital ECG
measurement and annotation. The 12XML Module enables the
export of ECG data into an XML file according to FDA
digital ECG requirements or as specified in other formats
requested by clinical research partners. Separately, or
together, these modules can be included with the E-Scribe
to best meet the specific requirements for ECG data
collection, processing and export.
Continuous, true 12-lead Holter monitoring will be
another point of interest for those involved in ECG
intensive trials. Mortaras H-12 digital recorder
provides the means to collect a continuous, 24 hour
digital 12-lead record. The H-12s true 12-lead
digital data acquisition combined with Mortaras
advanced analysis and export tools provides an
alternative to the conventional electrocardiograph for
ECG intensive studies.
Mentzer further stated, We feel our innovative
spirit and willingness to listen to what our clinical
research customers really need makes Mortara the partner
of choice in the world of ECG. We look forward to
bringing additional developments and product enhancements
to better serve ECG data collection, processing and
management in clinical trials in the near future.
David W. Mortara, Ph.D., one of the worlds leading
figures in ECG algorithm development, founded Mortara
Instrument in 1982. Mortara Instrument's headquarters are
located in Milwaukee, Wis., with European operations
based in Bologna, Italy. Mortara Instrument is
distinguished in the field of non-invasive cardiology for
the innovations that are the core of the company's
complete line of ECG products. These product innovations
include the integration of 12-lead ECG technology in
bedside monitoring, wireless stress testing, Holter and
telemetry monitoring systems. The company's website is
