Mortara Instrument Custom ID

Efficiency Through Technology
Demographic data entry can be a challenge with traditional hospital oriented electrocardiographs. Too often valuable staff time is wasted in deciphering the demographic field assignments for each piece of information. This added variable in data entry can unnecessarily compromise data consistency. Any Mortara Instrument electrocardiograph can download protocol specific custom ID fields from an E-Scribe/NT data management system.

When a custom ID is downloaded to a Mortara Instrument electrocardiograph, the user is prompted through protocol specific demographic entry using the LCD screen, eliminating any confusion as to which information should be entered in each demographic field. In the past, for example, sites were required to enter Protocol ID information in a hospital oriented field such as medication. The custom ID feature from Mortara Instrument allows Protocol ID to be entered in the field labeled Protocol ID The result is an ECG record that has a header that makes sense for clinical trials.

This technology provides a level of consistency in demographic data entry not seen previously in clinical trials. This combination of digital ECG data and the immediate availability of clearly defined demographic information that travels with the ECG record provides a significant administrative cost savings while increasing data quality.
